Erwin Rosenow

April 4, 1928 – November 13, 2021
In memory of our Beloved Husband, Father and Opa
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Erwin Rosenow currently of Chilliwack BC. Erwin is survived by his wife Irma, daughters Diane (Grant), Nancy, his grandchildren Graeme, Jessica, Spencer, Rachel and Detroit and great granddaughter Charlie. He is predeceased by sons Hans and Guy.
Erwin was born in Mellentin, a small farming community in Germany and enjoyed a pastoral childhood there until the WWII. He had a keen interest in aviation and engineering from a young age. After the war he emigrated to Quebec where he taught himself English, continued his schooling in aviation and worked for Air Canada for 30 years in many different capacities.
He met his wife Irma in St Jean Quebec and had four children there before moving to British Columbia and living in Surrey, Logan Lake and then Chilliwack.
Once retired Erwin and his wife Irma enjoyed travelling which included taking an almost year long trip across Canada and the USA in their camper
van. He also very much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Erwin was a very smart and talented man and there was not much he could not mod or fix. His depth of knowledge was amazing and included
sheet metal, mechanics, all things electrical and electronic and home improvements. He loved to read magazines about aviation, space travel, trains and science up to the time his health failed. He always stressed the importance of taking the time to do things properly and to be prepared for emergencies. Words of wisdom to live by!
Erwin faced many challenges in his last year as his health deteriorated and our deepest wish is that he finds the repose and peace he longed for.
Rest in peace Erwin/Father/Opa with your sons, you will be greatly missed.
Due to present circumstances, a graveside service will be held for immediate family.Obituary
