1931 - 2012

Erwin Gienger was born November 2, 1931 in Craigmyle, Alberta and died on July 2, 2012 at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 80 years.

Erwin worked as a logger, truck driver, then joined with two others to run Chilliwack Ready Mix, finally to Lafarge, where he drove cement truck and eventually a loader. He was an active member of Chilliwack Baptist Church until his illness kept him house bound. One of his many passions in life, besides his family and the Lord, was rocks. He loved to go to the river bars and look for rocks. He later branched out into making jewellery.

He leaves behind his loving wife Margaret of 56 years; his daughter, Sandi (George); two sons, Reg (Patti) and Roger (Dawn) of Indiana; 9 grandchildren, Brad (Helena), Alan (Talana), Andrew, Melissa (Nathan), Michelle (Steven), Dustin, Ryan, Nicholas and Nathanial; and 11 great grand children. He is also survived by his brother Albert; sister, Hilda and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Martin and Rose Gienger and his brother Fred.

He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Chilliwack Baptist Church at 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Chain of Love in care of The Chilliwack Baptist Church would be appreciated.
