Ernie PETERS

January 11, 2011

Nov. 12, 1934 - Jan. 11, 2011

It is with regret we announce the passing of Ernie Peters at his home on January 11, 2011.

Ernie was born in Greendale, BC where he was raised and worked most of his life in the Chilliwack area as a logger in the forestry industry working in the Chilliwack Lake area and other parts of the Fraser Valley.

On November 5, 1955 Ernie was married to Carol and they began to raise their own family. Ernie was an avid camper and fisherman, he enjoyed feeding the Joncos and other birds on his backyard deck. In his retirement Ernie started building and selling Whirleygigs and you could always hear the hum of one saw or another on a warm summer day. Ernie is survived by his loving wife Carol of 55 years, his sons Ken Peters (Treva), Gary Peters (Cheryl) and his daughter Patti Ferguson (Jim); and by Ernie and Carol’s grandchildren, Jeremie Peters (Candice and daughter Alexis), Kyla Peters (Greg), Tiffany Peters and Alexander Peters. Ernie is also survived by his sister Irene Paquette, his many cousins as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews living around the province. Ernie was predeceased by his parents Frank and Martha and his brother Dave.

Ernie will be missed by all of us and each of us will remember him in our own way.

There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of choice.

A family and friends gathering honouring Ernie will be held this coming spring.
