Ernest “Ernie” Dyck (age 72) was received into God’s presence Wednesday, February 1, 2006. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. Ernie was a long-time resident of Chilliwack, where he was a school teacher and principal. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elsie; children, Andrew (& Martha) Dyck, Abbotsford, and Lois (& James) Klassen, Dawson Creek; 6 grandchildren; four siblings, Margaret (& Jakob) Block, Abbotsford, Peter (& Agnes) Dyck, Erskine, AB, Helena (& Ben) Schmidt, Oliver, and John (& Mary) Dyck, Mission. A memorial service will be held at Broadway Church at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, at 4661 Maple Avenue, Chilliwack, with a fellowship lunch to follow. Donations in Ernie’s memory to the world relief branch of Mennonite Central Committee, Box 2038, Abbotsford, BC, V2T 3T8 will be gratefully received.
