In loving memory of Vera Noel who passed away January 4, 2010. She was born April 8, 1923 in Romania and emigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 3 years. The family settled in Castor, Alberta until moving to BC when she was in her early teens.
Vera married Herman “Bud” Noel at 19 and together they raised 8 children. She was a loving mom, grandma and great-grandma.
She is survived by one sister, Julie deKoning; four daughters and three sons, Deanne (Sandy), Loretta (Art), Laurence (Marg), Marian (Bob), Gordon (Joan), Rhonda (Ernie) and Frank. She was blessed with 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and several foster grandchildren. She has numerous nieces and nephews in both BC and Alberta. Vera was predeceased by her parents, several brothers and sisters, her son, Gary and grandson, Dylan.
Mom enjoyed cooking and baking, spending many years in the restaurant business. She enjoyed hosting many garage sales where she would bake for days to sell her goods. Mom had people coming from as far as Vancouver to buy her bread and pies.
When mom retired from the restaurant, she volunteered many years for the Agassiz Community Services and enjoyed working in their thrift store and meeting with the people coming and going. She enjoyed a good game of bingo and was a regular Thursday night player until she had to give up her license to drive. Mom loved children and sponsored many overseas children during her life. She also loved growing flowers and had beautiful gardens. She spent many a sunny day in her gardens. Mom was most passionate about her Lord and Saviour and we look forward to being together again.
Sadly missed and forever in our hearts.
