November 17, 1932 - December 12, 2020
On Saturday afternoon, December 12, 2020, our dear Aunt, Great Aunt, Great Great Aunt, and Sister slipped from her body peacefully into an eternity with her Lord.
Elsie was born in Acme, Alberta, and was one of 7 siblings. The family moved to Chilliwack in the 1940's.
Elsie completed grade 12 and then attended Briercrest College and Seminary in Saskatchewan.
She spent 8 years working at a children's home in Kansas City, and then moved to Sitka, Alaska to do missionary work and also work in a Christian Bookstore. Elsie loved the Lord, and spent time serving Him doing missionary work in Panama, and Bolivia.
While in Sitka, Elsie met Dick Williams, who became her husband of 10 years. Elsie and Dick retired from missionary work and moved to his home town of Lake Anne, Michigan where they lived for 8 years prior to his passing. Dick had 3 children, which Elsie always referred to as her kids.
Elsie often said the years spent with Dick were some of the happiest times of her life. She never remarried. Elsie moved back to Chilliwack where she resided until her passing.
It was difficult to see Elsie's strength, her clarity of thought, and cheerfulness decline over the past few years. For the most part, she remained happy and content at Eden Care Home where she lived for the past 3 years. Heart-felt thanks to all the staff at Eden Care Home for their caring manner, and the
compassionate care Elsie was provided during her stay.
We hope to have a gathering in the New Year to celebrate Elsie's life.
Forever in our Hearts
