Elsie GRAHAM (nee Davis)

Elsie Graham (nee Davis) born July 13, 1914 in Sidewood, Sask., passed away May 16, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Predeceased by her husband Weldon (Don) Graham (1993); and her grandson Peter Hefti (2000).

She will be lovingly remembered by daughters Glenda Walter (Dick) and Renee Hefti Graham; grandchildren, Kevin Walter (Carolynne), Russell Walter, Jay Walter (Leanne), Michelle Vaughan (Mark) and Teresa Hefti; great-grandchildren, Carmen, Cassidy, Liam, Taylor and Kayley; nieces, nephews; and many other family members and friends will treasure her memory.

Elsie came to B.C. when she was five, first to Slocan and then to Chilliwack. As a young women she loved to hike and bicycle. She taught many years in Chilliwack and other parts of B.C. and in the years before retirement taught special needs children in Coquitlam. She had a wonderful memory, delighted family and friends with stories of the past, was always up-to-date on current affairs and found great pleasure in every plant and flower. Her life was not always easy but she had strong spiritual beliefs, never complained and always ‘kept on keeping on’. For the last 10 years she was part of the ‘family’ at Dunwood Place where she was ell loved.

A memorial tea will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2003 at 2 p.m. Dunwood Place, 901 Colbourne St., New Westminster (11th floor lounge).

Special thanks to Dr. Harding, his nurse Dottie, and all the other health professionals involved with her care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit, St. Mary’s Hospital, New Westminster.
