Elsie Anna FEW

February 9, 2007

Elsie Anna Few passed away peacefully February 9, 2007 at the Chilliwack General Hospital. Elsie was predeceased by husband Don, parents Henry and Margaret Klassen and sister Nora Goertz.

She is survived by her daughter Sherri-Ann of Chilliwack, son Brent (Christina) of Prince George, grandchildren Dylan (Melissa), Janelle and Amanda, great granddaughter Madicyn all of Prince George, brother West (Faye) of Victoria and sister Til of Bellingham, Washington and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elsie was born in Hague, Saskatchewan and at an early age moved with her family to Watrous, Saskatchewan where she spent her childhood years and attended school. It was during these years that Elsie taught herself how to play the piano. She was an accomplished player; but could not read music.

In 1944 the family moved to Saskatoon and Elsie completed her schooling and attended the Saskatoon Business College where she excelled.

Elsie and Don were married in 1947 in Saskatoon and after living in a few small Saskatchewan communities settled in Prince Albert and began to raise a family. In 1958 Don and Elsie decided to move to the west coast and chose Chilliwack as the place to continue to raise their family. Although Elsie had numerous opportunities to work outside the home as her children were growing up she felt the need and devotion to be with her children and remained at home. She made home a very special and happy place.

As her children grew up, Elsie did use her business skills working as a secretary in various schools in the Chilliwack area.

Elsie loved to travel and was fortunate to be able to travel to countries such as England, Wales, France, China, Japan, Fiji and Australia.

A very special thanks to Graham for all his support.

A service will be held Monday, February 19, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack.

Donations may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon or the Salvation Army.
