Elsie Amelia Frerichs passed away peacefully on January 29, 2003 surrounded by her husband Rudy, and daughter Leanne, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Elsie was born May 28, 1932 in Melville, Sask. After moving to B.C. and marrying her husband Rudy, she began to dedicate her life to being a loving wife and mother. Elsie enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, bingo, camping, and making her many crafts.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Independent Order of Foresters.
Elsie and Rudy enjoyed many winters in the south where they made wonderful friends.
She is survived by her loving husband Rudy; daughters, Leanne (Ron), and Karen; son Merle (Susan); and six grandchildren, Kelly, Erin, Adam, Tanner, Corey, and Brandy.
Special thanks to the wonderful nurses in Palliative Care and Home Care at Chilliwack General Hospital for their care and support.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 8909 Mary St., Chilliwack on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003 at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the church hall.
