Elmer Albert ARNDT

Elmer Arndt was born on September 2, 1939, in Shell River Municipality, Roblin, Manitoba to Samuel and Annie (nee Liske) Arndt. He started school in Shell Vale and then went to the Goose Lake School in Roblin, then to Mossvale School in the Grandview District and finished high school at Duck Mountain School in the Grandview area. From 1965 until 1982 he worked in the Grandview Post Office and then in 1982, he moved to Lytton, BC where he was Post Master until his retirement 1995.

Upon retirement, he moved to Chilliwack, BC where he resided until his death on November 3, 2005. He was very active in Community Services. He took people for Kidney dialysis and did income tax returns for seniors as a volunteer. He loved sports as a spectator and as a baseball umpire. He played ball with the seniors in Chilliwack. He also bowled, golfed and played table tennis with the Seniors Clubs in the area.

Elmer is survived by his elder brother, Arnold (Eileen) of Westbank; his nephew, Mel Arndt; his uncle Eddie Liske and his aunt, Bertha Wincherook of Roblin as well as many cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday November 14, 2005 in Roblin, MB at the Narin-Chrys Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at the Shevlin Cemetery.

Memorial Service will also be held on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 1:30 pm from the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Reverend Wayne Lunderby officiating.
