Elizabeth Schmidt passed into the presence of her Lord on Thursday, November 27, 2008 in Chilliwack, at age 94 years.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving family, Leonard (Faith) Schmidt of Ottawa and Arnold (Barbara) Schmidt of Chilliwack; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband Sebastian; two sons, Rudy and Karl and four brothers, Jack, Nick, Philip and Fred Harfman.
As a young girl, Elizabeth moved from Yugoslavia to Canada with her family, settling in the Bridesville/Rock Creek area. She and her husband were very active in the community of Osoyoos, where they resided until moving to Chilliwack in 1985. In Chilliwack, Elizabeth was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 5, 2008 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 8871 School St. Chilliwack, BC. Interment to follow at Chilliwack Cemeteries.
If any so desire, memorial donations may be made in Elizabeth’s name to the St. Paul’s Memorial Fund or Canadian Lutheran World Relief.
