Judy Knoop passed away peacefully at the Cascade Lodge on July 28, 2005 at the age of 95 years. She was born in Pemberton Meadows, B.C. on May 5, 1910 and later moved to Vancouver. She moved to Agassiz in 1947 and then to Chilliwack in 1960.
Judy enjoyed the outdoors and had a lifelong love for gardening and reading.
Judy is survived by her daughter Maria Elson of Chilliwack and step-daughter, Anneliesje Thomas of Parksville, grandchildren; David and Elaine Elson, Saundra Elson and Todd Kuc, Leslie Thomas, Linda Thomas, Clinton and Sheila Thomas and great grandchildren; Grace Elson, Matthew and Jackson Kuc, Bradley and Jeffrey Thomas. She is also survived by her sister Ann Hall, brother, Dan and Lorraine Fraser and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kurt, brothers; James Punch, John Punch, Allan “Bud” Fraser, and sister Louise Weinberger.
Service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home. Honourary pallbearers will be the Golden K Kiwanis. Donations may be made to the Variety Club of The Children’s Charity of B.C., 4300 Still Creek Drive, Burnaby, B.C., V5C 6C3.
