December 13, 1924 - September 13, 2021
It is with deep sadness and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Korstad on September 13, 2021 at the age of 96. She is now together again with Howard, her husband of over 70 years.
Betty will be forever remembered by her children Richard (Shirley) and Robert (Susan); grandchildren Sherry (Robbie), Holly (Josh), Braden (Pam); and her five treasured great-grandchildren Sean, Kara, Larsen, Soren and Torben.
Betty spent her early years in Alberta and North Vancouver. As a young adult, she worked at War Time housing. Betty met Howard when he was in the air force during WW2. They were married after the war, and moved to Harrison Mills, a logging community in the Fraser Valley. It was a wonderful environment for raising their two sons.
Betty was an involved member of the Agassiz-Harrison community. She was a secretary at the Kent Elementary school and volunteered at the Agassiz Museum. Betty was a lifetime member of the Harrison Mills Community Club. She had a great love of music, playing the organ for family and friends and singing in local choirs. She cherished big family celebrations, particularly Christmas, where she would gather and sing Christmas carols with family and friends.
We are grateful for the caring support she received in her final days at the Chartwell Willow Long Term Care.
Due to Covid, a family graveside service will be held at a later date.
