Eileen Jean (nee Tiller) norman

January 5, 2007

It is with great sadness that Eileen’s family announces her passing on January 5th, 2007. Eileen was born in St. John’s Newfoundland on January 16th, 1929. She spent the majority of her adult life in Chilliwack, BC.

Eileen will always be loved and cherished by Fred, her husband of 57 years. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Eileen will be deeply missed by her daughters Cheryl (Dennis), Debbie (Tom), Darlene (Jim) and Cindy (Scott); grandchildren Charidee (Kelly), Tannis (Stuart), Dustin, Michael, Andrea (Mark), Krista, Caylie and great-grandchildren Dylan, Riley, Makayla, Brandon and Elijah. Her two brothers, Norman (Calgary, AB) and the Rev. Cecil Tiller (Keswick, Ont.), also mourn her passing. She will also be fondly remembered by Ken (Edmonton) and Hailey, Jarrett (Chilliwack).

Eileen was a devoted wife and mother. She greeted everyone with a big smile and saw the best in all she met. She deeply loved and enjoyed her family. Eileen was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 280 and the ladies auxiliary. She held a number of positions within the ladies auxiliary and continued to help as needed up until her illness.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses (NU3), hospice and palliative care staff of the Chilliwack General Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Eileen and her family.

A memorial service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 280 on Wednesday January 10th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Angus Haggarty, Officiating.
