Ted passed away, surrounded by his love, on May 4, 2008, at Surrey Memorial Hospital.

Born July 13, 1924 in Craik, Saskatchewan.

Predeceased by parents, Edwin and Alta Searcy, and sister Mary-Lou.

Ted is survived by his loving wife and best friend Flo Searcy; siblings: Alleen McLaren (Victoria), George (Anne) Searcy of White Rock, Jim (Gladys) Searcy of Calgary. Never to be forgotten by children Keith and Vicki, Karen, Colin and Joanne. The best Papa to Jen and Jesse, Rob, Eric and Amy, Laura, Michael, Melissa, Jennifer and Amanda.

In February, Papa Ted was thrilled to meet his first great-grandchild Liam. Ted will be watching over the expected arrival of his twin great-granddaughters this summer.

Ted grew up in Pouce Coupee and Burwin, Alberta. At 17, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he worked on Mitchell Bombers. Afterwards, he completed his high school diploma at UBC before going on to complete his Electrical Engineers Degree. Ted travelled extensively before settling in the Lower Mainland. After a career at Canada Customs, Ted enjoyed camping and fishing with family and good friends, Lou and Gord, and Doreen and Ralph.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 10 from 1:00 am - 4:30 pm at the Searcy home.

He’ll be forever loved. The old fart’s gone fishing.
