Edwin Joseph Knickel passed away, with family by his side, on Tuesday, January 17th , 2006 at Chilliwack Hospital, Chilliwack BC, at age 96 years. He was born March 18, 1909 in England. Ed is survived by his son Roy; daughters, Shirley and Gaie Knickel, step daughters, Donna Babcock and Dianne (Len) Barr; grandchildren, Kelly, Chris, Joe, Dan, David and Julianne; great grandson Jeff; his sisters, Bea, Alma (Jerry) and Verna and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Phyllis, his loving wife of 25 years.
Ed was independent and active and lived life to the fullest. He had several careers and interests which he enjoyed throughout the years. Ed had a great love of music and enjoyed playing the organ daily. He loved sports. His careers included being a commercial fisherman, cabinet maker and carpenter, he also enjoyed ballroom dancing and concerts.
He was an active learner all his life. He loved his grandchildren and took an active interest in their lives. His sense of humour was appreciated by all who knew him. He was well loved and will be missed dearly. A private family gathering will take place to celebrate Ed’s life.
