It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Ed, on May 8, 2013 at the age of 77 years.
Ed was born on February 23, 1936 in Winnepegosis, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his parents Anne and Peter J.; brothers, Michael, Melvin and Ernie (Betty).
Ed was enlisted in the Canadian Military for 27 years. He served his time with the United Nation Peacekeeping Force, NATO bases in Europe, as well as a number of bases across Canada.
Ed enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Rachael, playing cards and “looking for bargains” at different garage sales on the weekends.
Ed was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus; he was a loyal Knight. Ed was very involved in raising money for many charities through meat draws and numerous other functions since 1987.
Ed is survived by his wife of 52 years Rachael; his daughter, Margaret; and son, Ken. He was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Johnathan, Sarah, Tyler, Daniel and Joshua. Ed also has a sister, Florence; brothers: Nick and Dennis (Carol); and sister-in-law, Betty, who will all miss him dearly. Ed also leaves behind a wonderful group of friends and numerous acquaintances whose lives he touched deeply.
