(May 25, 1920 - April 9, 2008)

Ed passed away unexpectedly in Chilliwack Hospital after a short illness.

He was predeceased by his first wife Gladys and his sister Dorothy.

Ed is survived by his brother Eddie (Jo); his wife of 34 years, Nellie; sons: John (Maureen), and Ralph; grandchildren: Roderick (Lisa), Noeline (Wiley), Jody (Bob); and great-grandchildren: Andrew, Olivia, Alexis, and Ethan.

Edward was born in Edmonton, he moved to Chilliwack in 1934. After serving in the RCAF in WWII, he returned to Chilliwack and was one of the Ed‘s in Ed & Ed Halsall Jewellers.

Ed was a proud member of the Chilliwack Rotary Club and Masonic Lodge. He had over 62 years of serving the community with both organizing as well as various volunteer positions with groups such as the Senior Citizens. An ardent hockey fan and supporter; he was a leading organizer in founding Chilliwack’s Junior Hockey Teams.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 14, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Reception to follow in the Tea Room.

No flowers please, but favourite stories and memories about Edward will be collected at the service, and donations to a charity of your choice are appreciated.
