Edna Mae BELLOW

August 7, 2003

Edna Mae Bellow passed away on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003 in Chilliwack General Hospital, at age 72 years. She was born March 4, 1931 in Treherne, Man.

Edna is survived by daughter Marleen (Dennis) DeMare; sons, Bryon (Shelley), Percy (Vicky), and Timothy (Donna) from Manitoba; 10 grandchildren, Darryll (Lisa) Kimberlee (Jason) Stelmaschuk, Lance (Lauri), Cassidy, Ronelle, Alanna, Shelby, Melissa, Matthew, and Megan; great-grandson Bradlee, the latest apple of her eye.

She is predeceased by Robert (Bobby), her loving husband of over 50 years, on July 22, 2003; her parents, Annie and Percy Nesbitt; brothers, Ambrose, Ernie, Ivan and Stan; sisters, Bonnie and Ferne; brothers-in-law, Floyd McDonald and Don Smith; and sisters-in-law Paula Nesbitt and Gwen Nesbitt.

Edna grew up in Treherne, Man., attended Arbroath School, and began house cleaning as a young lady. She met her soulmate Bob, they married and moved to Baldur, purchased the homestead farm and worked side-by-side doing mixed farming and raising four children. She made sure the St. Alphonse School was sparkling when she had the position of custodian from 1976-1981 when they moved to Chilliwack.

Her love of children kept her glowing, she babysat for many families until her health would no longer allow her this privilege. She shared the love of horses with Bob and their team was one of her pride and joys - she made sure they had their carrot treat. Family pets grew to know Grandma had treats. She loved nature.

Family and friends were extremely important to her; the welcome mat was always out, the home baking, tea and laughter was the key to her happy home. A True Gift, she was to all who knew her kind, caring and unconditional love. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure to feel the joy and love in her home and lovingly remembered for her giggle and the twinkle in her eye when she’d say ‘’you’re bad’’. A wonderful legacy she has left, her positive attitude, wisdom, unselfish ways, humour, and her true talent was to make people laugh. She was a gem who will be sadly missed but never forgotten — We Love You.

A special thanks to Dr. Bartel, Dr. Dueck, and special nurses Dean and Mia.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack. Major Angus Haggarty officiating. Cremation will take place and Edna and Bobby will be placed to rest in Baldur, Man. at a later date.
