Edna passed away at Cascade Lodge Chilliwack at the age of 102. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald Plowright 1970 and Tom Blades 1998. She leaves behind her children Bob (Joanne) Plowright, Bill (Anna) Plowright, step children Brian (Marlene) Blades, Bob (Chris) Blades, Barb (Rick) Oglivie and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Edna was born March 22, 1917 in New Westminster and enjoyed many happy years in White Rock and later in Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Upon finishing high school she completed her psychiatric nursing degree subsequently working as Matron at the Oakalla Women's Prison, psychiatric nurse at Riverview Hospital and finally as nurse and office manager with the White Rock Medical Clinic.
In her retirement years she and Tom enjoyed their Birch Bay getaway, motor homing, cruises and winters in both Yuma Arizona and Indio California. Upon moving to Chilliwack she was an active member of the Senior Resources Society and the Chilliwack United Church where she regularly attended Sunday services and social events.
Other highlights included watching BC Lions Football, attending local hockey games and cultural events with Betty Younie, we thank her for her many years of friendship and for providing chauffer services to many of these events.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Gord Enns and the staff at Cascade Lodge for providing to her health and comfort needs over the last few years.
At this time no service or Celebration of Life is currently planned.
