HOWARD, Edith "Muriel". Edith passed away on August 13th, 2013 at Heritage Village at the age of 91. She was born September 23, 1921 in Gilbert Plains Manitoba. Muriel is survived by daughter Verlene (Joe) Clegg and son Russell, Grand daughters Darcie (Jeff) Murray Donna (Mic) Archambault, Shelley (Devin) Spackman. Great grandchildren Josh, Cody, Riley, Nicole, Nathan, Darcy and Alexis. Also survived by sister-in-laws Isabel Smith, Muriel Taylor, Betty Buchanan, Ardel Ford, Doreen Hildebrandt, Hazel Watson and Kathy Huband, brother-in-laws Ernie Howard and Dudley Ford and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Stan of 60 years, her parents and her siblings Arlene Murray, Geraldine Peacock and Harold Smith.

Mom was a member of the Royal Purple Branch #110 for over 50 years. During that time she held many offices e.g. Honoured Royal Lady, District Deputy, Secretary, Treasurer. She was also a Life Member and Past President of the Senior Veterans Society. She enjoyed Bingo, crib, keno and the slot machines. She spent many hours at the Senior Vets enjoying games and fellowship with the many friends she made there. She also loved to read, knit and crochet. When her health started failing she moved to Heritage Village where she met old friends and made new ones. She loved her time there. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations can be made to a charity of their choice. A memorial service will be held September 14th, 2013 at 1:00 o'clock at the Senior Veterans Society at 9233 Main Street, Chilliwack, BC.
