It is with great sadness that we announce Mom's peaceful passing at the age of 88 in Chilliwack, BC after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Billie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years and best friend, Darrell Burley, her sons Mark (Sharen) and Jeff (Katie), grandchildren Travis (Lindsay), Todd (Hayley), Meghan, and Kevin, and her adored great-granddaughters Paige and Sasha. Billie was predeceased by her older brothers Calvin and Garth Savage.
Billie was born and raised on her parents' farm near Sherwood Park, Alberta. She later settled in Calgary where her sons, Mark and Jeff Warren were born. The family moved to Victoria in 1967 where Billie worked at RW Boutique, embarking on a life-long career in retail fashion. Her many friends and clients will recall her impeccable fashion sense.
Life eventually took Billie to Vancouver and a job at Ports International where she caught the eye of Darrell. They married on Valentine's Day 1981 and, over the years, enjoyed cruising the world together. They also loved to drive to the States and try to beat the odds at the casinos, where Lady Luck smiled on Billie more often than not.
Sincere thanks to all the dedicated and compassionate staff at Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack, the Waverly and Dr. Mackenzie for making Mom's final days peaceful and comfortable.
