BACHMANN,"May" Edith

(nee Dyble)

Dec 29,1935-June 24,2013

May passed away at Cascade Hospice June 24, 2013 after a 8 month diagnosis of inoperable cancer. May was born in Agassiz, and grew up in Sardis. She married her husband Sig in the 50's. They grew raspberries on Webb Ave and sold their raspberries to the canneries, York Farms, and Fraser Vale. May, could be seen at various flea markets selling her handmade wares. She enjoyed that time, mostly because she met so many people. May volunteered her time with Parkholm residents for over 20 years. She also helped with the Salvation Army Kettle drive, also at the Seniors Resource Center in Chilliwack. May also enjoyed taking the bus, taking her on numerous trips over the years.

May is survived by her 2 children; Bob of Sardis, Margaret of Victoria. May is predeceased by her husband Sig in 2000. She leaves her brother Larry (Shanne) Dyble of Vernon, extended family in Europe, special mention to Erwin, Doris, and Marco. Many cousins and her 2 special adopted sisters, Marie Ward and June Henderickson. Her children wish to thank her many friends, and extended family for their love and support. Including the Abbotsford Cancer Agency, Monday's Mobile Lab Technicians, Chilliwack Ambulatory Care, Gentebella Beauty Salon (School), and mom's home support workers whom she adored. Special gratitude extended to the Price Smart Pharmacy staff whose help and service went above and beyond. To Cascade Hospice, Love and Thanks! Thank-you, for enriching her life, with yours. We wish to thank mom for the lessons she taught us; compassion, kindness, patience, and understanding. Your strength, courage and grace filled our lives with Joy. A life led by service, and care for others first, and foremost. If friends so desire, please consider donations to the Canadian Red Cross Equipment Loan Service, (loans equipment to families to people to allow them to manage in their homes for, either short or long term), Parkholm Lodge (c/o Chilliwack General Hospital), for the care and comfort of the residents. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 2:00PM from Salvation Army Church, 46420 Brooks Ave. Chilliwack, BC. Reception to follow.
