Edie Green, in her 100th year, passed away on March 26, at the Eden Care Centre in Chilliwack. Edie was born on February 26, 1916 in Prince Albert, Sask to Egbert and Jans Wilgenhof. She was the second eldest in a family of four children. Growing up in Saskatchewan at this time equipped her with a strong sense of purpose and an enduring love of the outdoors. Edie married Albert Frederick Green in 1936 and by the time the war started they had two boys (Brian and Wayne). A third son, Lorne, was born in 1942 and her fourth son Garth was born in 1950. Edie and Fred moved to Chilliwack in 1953.

Edie is survived by one brother Fred, three sons, Brian, Lorne and Garth, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Fred, son Wayne, great granddaughter Lacey and two siblings John and Garda. A celebration of Edie's life will be held in Henderson's Funeral Chapel, 45901 Victoria Ave., Chilliwack on Saturday, April 18 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Eden Care Facility for dedication to the establishment of a butterfly garden for the residents. The family would like to thank Dr. Jones and the management and staff at the Eden Care Facility for the ongoing care during Edie's time there.
