Edgar BOLLERUP

March 10, 2003

Edgar Bollerup passed away on March 10, 2003 at Chilliwack. He was born April 13, 1905 and emigrated to Canada in 1927 from Gesten, a small village in Denmark. After travelling throughout Canada in these early years, he settled in Vancouver.

In 1940, with his wife Dorothy, he founded Spider Looms Ltd. which they subsequently built into a thriving necktie business. After retirement in 1968, they moved to Chilliwack where they established a dream hobby farm where their love of nature and life bloomed in fullness.

Everyone found an open hearted welcome at “Reub’s Old Place”. His dedication to living, his workmanlike attitude and his European education in weaving and farming laid the foundation for a long and productive life ending happily in his 97th year.

He was the last survivor of a family of six siblings, and leaves behind his children, Clive, Ross, Bryan, Rikka, and Risse; their spouses; his seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews in Denmark and California.

He was predeceased by Dorothy in 1998.

His living gifts of mentorship and love will long be remembered.

At Edgar’s request, no service will be held.
