SCHROEDER

Ed

Ed Schroeder was born in Chilliwack, BC, August 15, 1937. He passed away on August 7, 2011 at Parkside Care Home in Prince George, BC, with his wife by his side.

He is survived by his wife Erica “Ricky”; son, Jerry Schroeder (Kate Sirluck) and their daughter Imogen, all of Vancouver, BC; his son, Bob Schroeder (Mel) and their son Jacob, all of Prince George, BC. He is also survived by his sister Charlotte Enberg (Paul) of Vancouver, Wash.; nephew, Rob Miller (Ardy) of Haines, Alaska and Rob’s sons Odin and Gunar. His niece Connie Saylor of Beaverton, Ore; niece, Cathy Bail (Dean) of Beaverton, Oregon and their daughters Gretchen and Heidi.

He was predeceased by his son Curt Schroeder; his parents Jacob and Erna Schroeder; his brother Hugh Schroeder and brother in law, Con Miller.

Ed and Ricky moved to Prince George in 2002 after Ed retired from the electrical contracting business. They settled first at Tabor Lake. Then in 2005, Ed found his dream place at Ness Lake. So they “up-sized” and Ed was in his true element. He grew the most awesome organic garden every year and in the fall and winter he made roads and felled trees for firewood in his very own forest.

Ed suffered a stroke on July 16, 2010. Ricky would like to thank the staff at the rehab unit in the University hospital on the North. Ed was there for six months and then transferred to Parkside Care Home. Ricky would also like to thank the staff there for their care, especially during his final days.

No service as per his request. Ed will be cremated. Assmans Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Donations may be made to the Prince George S.P.C.A. 4011 Lansdown Rd, Prince George, BC. Condolences can be made to www.assmansfuneralchapel.com”
