Hutton; Dr. Gordon James. It is with the utmost sadness that after a brief illness we report the peaceful passing of Gordon Hutton. Gordon was born and raised in a small mining town in the Crow's Neck Pass, Alberta. After high school he worked in the coal mine for a year before seeking higher education. He attended Mount Royal College and then the University of Alberta, graduating in 1956 with his DDS (Dr. of Dental Science) degree. Gordon married Yvonne Eriksson in 1954 and after his graduation they headed west to find a place to begin a practice, make a home and raise a family. They drove through Chilliwack on a beautiful spring day and never left. Gordon practiced dentistry for 44 years from 1956 - 2000.

Gordon had many hobbies including music (he loved to play the piano), woodwork, fishing and golf. He was the last of the original founding members of the Chilliwack Golf and Country Club. Gordon was predeceased by his wife Yvonne in 2009. He is survived by his children Erik and Bev, Gordon and Don; grandchildren Mitchell, Graham and Leanne Hutton and Christine Matusiak; extended family Alfie, Marie and Heather Anderson, Yvonne and Randy Cumming, Glen, Vicky and Carol Hutton and Nancy and Sandy Gauthier. At Gordon's request there will be no memorial service. A text received from a friend was very appropriate for Dad..."so sad to hear about Gordon. He was the noblest of us all. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. We will miss him dearly."
