It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Bernie Klassen at the age of 72. His life was taken suddenly while traveling with his son in Costa Rica.
He will be dearly remembered and sadly missed by his children: Joanne (John), Byron, Kevin (Melissa), and Michelle (Dale); his grandchildren: Rachelle, Cameron, Connor and Dylan; his brothers: Erwin, Rudy, Ed and Eric; his sisters: Margaret, Dorothy, Rae, and Trudi; as well as many dear friends, relatives and colleagues.
He was predeceased by his parents David and Mary, his sister Helen, and his brother Dave.
Bernie was a family physician practicing in Chilliwack for the past 47 years. He was a vibrant man, always living life to its fullest. He loved to laugh, sing, and play his banjo.
His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a source of inspiration and strength for many; his family, friends, patients and community.
A celebration of Bernie’s life will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 11:00 am at Henderson’s Funeral Chapel, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack. Reception to follow.
