(June 19 1923-October 23 2008)

Doug passed away suddenly, but peacefully, in Chilliwack Hospital.

He grew up and lived much of his life on Capitol Hill in Burnaby and raised his family there.

During the Second World War he served with the Canadian army in Europe.

Doug worked with the C.P.R. at the Cordova St. train station where he retired as one of the longest serving employees.

He spent the last 14 years enjoying their home in Promontory Estates.

Doug is survived by a loving family: his wife Joan of 60 years; son, Matt (Barbara); and daughters: Lea, Julie (Frank) and Kathleen (Kevin); and grandchildren Brandee, Clayton, Jayleen and Andrew.

A private ceremony will be held.
