With profound sadness, our brother Doug passed away peacefully with family by his side, in St. Pauls Hospital in Vancouver, BC on July 1, 2020 after a valiant fight with extensive heart issues.
Doug was born February 17, 1957 in Chilliwack to William Victor and Sylvia E. Janicki. He is survived by his mother Sylvia E. Janicki, his brothers and sisters, Terry (Stan), Ken (Nancy), David, Joyce (Cam), Peggy (Rick), nieces and nephews, Kim, Kelli Ann, Shellie, Jamie, Alex, Marc, Chantel, Anthony, Dan, Cory, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
Doug was predeceased by his father, William Victor Janicki in 1998, his brother-in-law, Alan Budd in 2001 and his sister-in-law, Stella Janicki in 2016.
Doug lived his entire life in Chilliwack, BC. His employment before his health concerns was with Chilliwack Taxi as a driver and dispatcher. He also worked at York Farms and the recycling depot.
Doug lived a quiet, peaceful life. He had an incredibly gentle, loving soul. Numerous friends said he was always up for great conversations. He had a love for music and was always willing to extend a hand when needed. Doug was well loved and we will carry his memories in our hearts forever.
A very special thank you to the Surgical Cardiac ICU unit at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver for Doug's care. A very special thank to Wynn for her dedication and compassion shown to our brother Doug over the these last months. Also a very heartfelt thank you to al of Doug's neighbours and friends for always being there in his time of need.
Always loved and in our hearts, forever.
