John Douglas Brett, 65, passed away May 10, 2010 at the Chilliwack Cascade Hospice of causes related to ALS.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 19th at 2:00 pm at the Chilliwack United Church, 45835 Spadina Avenue. Friends, family and their children are welcome to attend a celebration of Doug’s life at the family residence immediately following the service.
Doug was born on March 2, 1945 in Vancouver, BC to Enos and Frances Brett and was the eldest sibling to Wendy Winstanley, Richie Brett and Robbie Brett.
He loved being outdoors and fishing with his friends and grandchildren.
He was passionate about Lindell Beach and its community and enjoyed sharing time there with family and friends.
Doug is survived by his wife, Marj Brett; and his two children and their spouses, Farrell Brett and Scott Unger, Shane and Misty Brett; and 4 grandchildren, Darien Unger, Jayden Unger, Liam Brett and Hannah Brett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the ALS Society of BC or the Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack.
