Dottie Karr passed away at the George Derby Center in Burnaby where she had resided since 2013. She was predeceased by her parents Rossley James and Margaret Ethel Karr (Nee Wall) and her fiance, Ronald Simmonds who passed in 1949. Dottie was very proud of her military service which started at the age of 15, she was in the Canadian Women's Army Corps (C.W.A.C), was a practical nurse and joined CUSO in 1967. Her service with CUSO took her to Columbia, South Africa and Barbados. Dottie remained active with her military events, volunteering, and friendships as long as she was able. No service by request.
