Dorothy HODGINS (nee Dodd)

Dorothy Elizabeth Hodgins passed away at the Chilliwack General Hospital on January 18, 2005 at the age of 81 years. She was born in Fort William, Ontario on February 3, 1923.

She is survived by her husband Harvey of 60 years, their four children, four grandchildren, sister Shirley and family.

At a young age of 19, Dorothy volunteered for the Women’s Division of the RCAF (W.D.’s). She served in Canada and overseas in London, England from 1944 to 1945. She met Harv in Halifax and they married in London on December 20, 1944. They returned after the war to Canada and raised four children starting in Toronto and ending up in North Vancouver, then Chilliwack. It was here that they became members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 and avid golfers at Meadowlands.

Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral with Rev. Dan Meakes officiating with private interment in the Legion Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or World Vision.

Dot was a bundle of much-loved energy for almost 82 years and leaves a legacy of caring and incredible warmth. With love always, Harv, Gail, John, Paul, Bev, Kim, Kevin, Jess, Will, sister Shirley and family.
