Dorothy was born in Burnley, Lancashire, England on December 22, 1922. She is predeceased by her parents Herbert and Minnie Barker, her husband William (Bill), and her sister Kathleen. She is survived by sons Harry (Pam) in Niagara Falls, Ontario and Ian (Lynne Wells) in Chilliwack, niece Sonia (Zola) in California, and grandson Matthew (Maggie) in Port Moody and great grandchildren Kaitlynn and Jackson, and granddaughter Erin in Vancouver. Dorothy moved to Chilliwack in 1996 taking up residence in the Devonshire on Wellington Avenue. Dorothy immigrated to Canada from London, England in 1953 on the Queen Elizabeth ocean liner travelling with Harry and Ian to meet up with husband Bill in Niagara Falls where they lived on Ellsworth Place before Bill and Dorothy moved to the village of Chippawa. Dorothy worked for ten years at H.G. Acres and for the Niagara Parks Commission. She also helped Bill with office duties for his electrical contracting business. Dorothy enjoyed travelling, especially to visit her sister and family in California. Her chief hobby was painting, which she continued to enjoy when she moved to Chilliwack. She also had a knack for interior decorating and always sought to beautify her home environments. Dorothy loved going to the theatre, the movies and musical events with friends and family. The family wishes to thank the staff at Cascade Manor and Lodge for their excellent care and to Doctors Alan Richmond and Gordon Enns for their outstanding attention to Dorothy's health needs. A celebratory tea will be held at a later date in Dorothy's honour. She whom we love, And lose, Is no longer,

Where she was before, She is now, Wherever we are.
