Doris Alma Chamut (nee Hider) passed away on Monday, December 1, 2003 at the Chilliwack General Hospital, Extended Care Unit, at age 88 years. She was born in Botha, Alberta on July 3, 1915. Doris is survived by her devoted husband, Steve; her three sons, Robert (Shirley), Patrick and Brian (Vivian); and by her grandchildren, Stephanie (J.J.), Kristin, Colin, Stephen, and Kimberley; her brother, Bruce Hider and her nephews, Frank (Pat) and J.B (Loren). Doris was predeceased by her younger sister, Myrtle. Doris trained as a nurse in Medicine Hat and worked at the Bowness Hospital in Calgary. She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband of 62 years. She enjoyed life, and enriched the lives of her family and many friends, with her caring manner and constant good humour. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by her family and friends. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care and attention provided to Doris by the nurses and staff of the Chilliwack Hospital E.C.U. and for the dedicated medical attention provided by Dr. Quinn. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave Chilliwack, B.C. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society of Canada.
