Doreen Marie McKay passed away on January 8, 2006 in the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 80 years. She was born in Rosedale, B.C. on April 22, 1925.
Doreen was a devoted mother and wife who made many life-long friends in the community, volunteering with the Chilliwack Hospital Auxiliary for 30 years. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Doreen is survived by her loving family; husband Chester (Ches) married for 61 years, two daughters; Pamela (Rick) Higginson and Heather (David) Allen both of Chilliwack and five grandchildren; Dawn Higginson, Russell Higginson, Barry Higgginson, Susan Bentley and Charlie Armitage and two great grandchildren; Kaitlyn and Gordon Bentley as well as many nieces and nephews. Doreen was predeceased by an infant daughter Barbara Juliette.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 3:00 pm. Donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of B.C., 600 – 890 West Pender Street, Vancouver, B.C., V6C 1J9.
