It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Donna Marie Male who was born in Winnipeg, May 29, 1941 to Muriel and Harold Horgan. Donna is survived by her brother David Horgan. Predeceased by brother Joey Horgan and her parents. She is survived by her 3 children Danny, Kevin and Shelley and 2 grandchildren. She is also survived by Dave Prachnau, her love for the past 28 years, and his 3 children Laurie, Janet, and Kevin; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also predeceased by her husband Wilf Male and survived by his children Lynda, Jacquie, Barbara, Rick, and Debbie; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Donna spent her childhood in Greenwood, NS, until she moved to Calgary where she graduated in commerce and married. (George Strong).
She spent the early part of their marriage in Europe where her 2 sons were born and continued back to Canada where her daughter was born. She spent many happy years living in Chilliwack River Estates, especially happy hour visiting with friends. Donna was employed at Westform Metals and served dutifully for 23 years before retiring in 2011. She loved her job and made many life long friends. Longtime best friend Rachel Jamieson (husband Gordon, predeceased), stood by and cared for Donna until her final days. Donna and Dave enjoyed traveling, entertaining, tropical vacations, camping trips, weekends at Kevin's cabin but mostly quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Please join us as we celebrate Donna this Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Cheam Mountain Golf Course, 44610 Luckakuck Way, Chilliwack, from 2-5pm. There will be a light lunch with an open mic to follow and we invite you to share your stories. Casual bright attire is requested. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a hospice of your choice.
