Donald Walker beaton

passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2006. He was born in Vancouver on November 25, 1930 to the late Bill and Frieda Beaton.

At the age of six, during the depression, his family moved to Agassiz to farm. Don worked the farm with his parents until 1966. He then went to BCIT and obtained a diploma in Food Technology. He worked for Fraser Vale Frozen Food for a short time before beginning a second career with Agriculture Canada, Agassiz, in 1971. In 1975, he transferred to Kamloops and returned to Agassiz two years later as Farm Foreman. He retired after 25 years.

Don was a 50-year member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows. He was also an active member of the Chilliwack Outdoor Club and the Chilliwack Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed hiking, canoeing, cross country skiing, gardening, photography, fishing and other outdoor activities.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Delia; daughters, Alyson and Claire; sons-in-law, Pat and Torrey; grandchildren, Elysha and Mathieu; sisters, Janet and Marion; nephew, Will and family; niece, Heather and family; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. L. MacIntosh for his dedicated care and all the amazing staff at Cascade Lodge.

A memorial service and tea will he held 1:00pm, Saturday, October 14 at Henderson’s Funeral Home.
