Donald Percy MEYER

Donald Meyer passed away at The Waverly in Chilliwack on February 15, 2005 at the age of 74 years. He was born in Cornwall, Ontario on November 11, 1930.

Don is survived by his wife Zee of 20 years and daughter Marisa Meyers (Wynn Dale), son Dean Meyer (Carrie), grandchildren, Dustin, Jessica and Joshua. He is also survived by his brother Doug Meyer (Jo) of Georgia. He is also fondly remembered by first wife Myrna and many other family and friends. He was predeceased by seven brothers, one sister and his parents, Herbert and Sadie Meyer.

Don was a veteran of the Korean War and served with the Engineers. He lived most of his life in Chilliwack where he worked at Chilliwack Sash N Door before going on to building houses on his own. He built some 400 homes in Chilliwack.

Don loved golf and was a charter member of the Chilliwack Golf and Country Club. He also was a long time supporter of Jr. A hockey in Chilliwack and a previous owner of the Chilliwack Colts. He attended Chiefs games in the new Prospera Center until a week before his death. He also enjoyed curling and seniors softball. His sense of humour, compassion and the dignity in which he lived his life will never be forgotten.

Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, Feb. 21, 2005 at 10 am from the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home with Major Angus Haggarty officiating.
