Donald George Zink, a longtime resident of Chilliwack, passed away February 28, 2003 in Chilliwack at the age of 79 years. He was born August 18, 1923 in Chilliwack.
Don was the son of a Chilliwack pioneering family. He spent his life farming on Old Yale Rd. Don was a member of the Chilliwack Historical Society, Hole In The Wall Recreation Club, Horse and Buggy Club, the Airport Coffee Club, and spent many enjoyable years travelling, fishing and camping with his friends. “Gone to be with Jess’’.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 5, 2003 at the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home. Douglas Newby officiating. Interment will precede the service at 10 a.m. at the Chilliwack Cemeteries.
Don is survived by his daughter Margaret (Jim) Fanning; grandsons, Ben and Mike; daughter-in-law Linda (Bill) Fletcher; grandsons, Scott and Stuart; twin brother Roydon (Mildred) Zink; sisters, Norma Bean and Vera Armstrong; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Jessie; and son Rick.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
