Donald Frederick Murray

July 11, 1941 - March 14, 2022
In loving memory ~
Donald passed away on March 14, 2022 at the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 80 years old. He was born on July 11, 1941 in North Vancouver.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Cecile, children Michelle (Yvon), Cheryl, Rick (Lafawn), grandchildren Ryan, Sara (Adam), Derek, Aryn (Randy), Cody, great grandson Levi and siblings Sally, Judi, Bill (Janice) and Gary.
He was predeceased by parents Fred and Janet Murray of West Vancouver.
Don had a long and successful career as a chartered accountant and school district administrator, retiring from the Chilliwack School District in 2003. He had a passion for community service, actively volunteering wherever he lived.
Anyone who met Don knew the greatest joy in his life was his family. He would tell anyone that would listen all about his kids, grandchildren, great grandson, nieces and nephews.
Don will be forever remembered for his sense of humour and antics. He never hesitated to embark on new adventures whether it was moving his young family to the Douglas Lake Cattle Company or heading out to the farm in Saskatchewan.
His list of passions included travel, hydroplanes, bagpipes & marching bands, pirates, anything chocolate, Disneyland and sports.
He was grateful to always be supported and loved by Cecile.
Don had a profound impact on all the lives he touched and he will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 13, 2022 from 2:30 to 5:30 pm at the Chilliwack Curling Club.
Memorial donations may be made to the Chilliwack Hospital Foundation or local charity of your choice.
Rest in peace Don, Dad, Pop, Bubba, Uncle Chicken Pants.
