With his loving family by his side and after eight courageous years battling cancer, Dennis Jacob Neufeld passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Chilliwack, BC at age 75 years.

Dennis was born September 15, 1932 in Wald–hiem, Saskatchewan. At the age of five years Dennis and the rest of the Neufeld family moved to Langley BC, eventually settling in Clearbrook where he later met his wife Jean.

Dennis worked as a heavy duty mechanic with Cattermole Timber and Lineham Logging until his retirement in 1981. He had a love for mechanics and spent the rest of his years doing mechanics work with his friend, Larry Toop and Larry’s sons, Scotty and Craig. He was a man of many talents including welding and any kind of home renovations. He was eager to help others when his health allowed. Dennis will be dearly missed, loved and never forgotten by his family friends and the many people whose lives he touched.

May he rest in peace.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean; step-children: Rita (Roger) Jimmie-Henry and Roy (Sandy) Haverkamp; grandchildren: Dale and Vicky (Brent); great-grandchildren: Cheyanne and Therren; sister, Lillian and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret and father, Jacob; step-son, Norman; brothers, Ted, Peter, Bill and Earl and sister, Ann.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 1:30 pm from the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave. Chilliwack.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation would be welcome.
