It is with great sadness that the family of Delores Lehmann (nee Gaudette, previously Bell, Schoenbaechler) announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday, October 21st, 2020 at the age of 87 years in Chilliwack, B.C. Delores will be forever remembered by her children, Brenda (George), Christiané (Kieran), Edgar (Sheena) and Melford. Delores will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Deremie, Lauren (Derek), Naomi (Matthew), Sheldon (Lynsey) and Tyler (Olivia) as well as her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends. Delores was preceded by husbands Seldon, Walther and Werner, her daughter Janet, brother Emil and sister Delphine.
Born in Bracken and raised in Climax Saskatchewan until moving to Chilliwack as a small child, she graduated from Chilliwack Senior, and went on to train as a nurse at Royal Columbian before leaving training to marry. Delores lived in Agassiz, Chilliwack and Sardis her entire life with the exception of three years in the 70's when she lived in Switzerland.
Delores' life was full of adventures and challenges. After being widowed she raised four children on her own, before remarrying and having another child. Later in life after being widowed again she eloped to Vegas and welcomed her new husband's daughters Margret (Gordon) and Renate (Steve) and family into her fold. Delores always remained close with the Bells, Schoenbaechlers and Lehmanns.
Delores enjoyed a varied career, having worked at Finning Tractor and Cheam Veterinary Hospital in the 60's before working for Dow Chemical when she lived in Switzerland.
For many years she was the Social Hostess at the Harrison Hot Springs Hotel (where she was highly awarded for her service) and made many long-lasting friendships there. In the late 90's she embarked on another career, that of proprietor of the Happy Prospector in Harrison.
Delores' was also a member of numerous organizations including the Ruth Rebekahs, Eastern Star, Chilliwack German-Canadian Club and the Red Hats. She was also a long serving member of the Agassiz School Board.
