Deborah Ann Spencer passed away in the wee hours of Wednesday, May 17th, 2006 at Chilliwack General Hospital after a long and courageous struggle with a very formidable disease. Debbie will be remembered as a mother who loved her children profoundly and gave to her friends immeasurably.
Debbie was born September 24, 1961 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, moving west to Chilliwack 8 years later. After graduating from Chilliwack Senior Secondary in 1979 Debbie met her late husband Jim with whom she created her two most cherished reasons for being; Son James and daughter Katie. Joined by Jim’s daughter Kristen, they formed a loving blended family. She is also survived by her mother, Virginia Koelzer (Grampa Bern) CHWK, father Leo Baggio (the late Maria) Sydney, NS, brother Leo Baggio (Kimberlee, Jake, Sophia) Kamloops, BC, sister Paula McNeil (Bradley, Amanda,Nicholas, Adam) Glace Bay, NS and sister in arms, Collette Whalley (Dan, Jennifer, Natalie) Sardis.
A prayer service for Debbie will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Chilliwack on Friday, May 19th at 6pm and a celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at the same venue on Saturday, May 20th at 10am.
