Debbie Mattson (nee Krieger) passed away peacefully in Mission, at the age of 48 years, after a two year battle with a rare heart condition.

She is predeceased by her older sister Cheryl; and devoted family pets, Dobermans Rona and Rampart; and cats Tiffany and Tiger.

Debbie will be lovingly remembered by her husband Neil; parents, John and Eileen Krieger; brother Mark; parents-in-law, Bill and Margaret; sister-in-law Ardis (Andy) Miller; brothers-in-law, Ross (Elena), Brian (Linda), and Darel; niece Lindsay; nephews, Alex, Duncan, and Robert; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many friends.

Throughout her life, Debbie had a deep love and respect for all animals, especially Arabian horses, and she leaves behind an Arabian stallion, affectionately known as Paso.

In her career with the Mission School District for almost 30 years, she was admired for her dedication, organization, and unwavering professionalism. Debbie always enjoyed her family and friends, spending time relaxing at home, as well as taking many vacations throughout B.C., the U.S., and Mexico, living her life to the fullest.

A Celebration of Debbie’s Life will be held on Saturday, Mar. 29, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church, 32840 Janzen Ave., Mission (southeast corner of Cedar St. and Cherry Ave.) with Reverend Judy Stark officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donation information will be available at the service.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Carol Pomeroy, and all the doctors, nurses and staff of Mission Memorial Hospital for their care and kindness.
