David Lawrence Child, born April 6, 1947, passed away on August 16, 2018 at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 71. He was predeceased by his father, Irwin, in 1989 and mother, Laura, in 2017.
'Laurie' lived his entire life in Chilliwack where he drove gravel truck, cement truck, and operated various heavy machinery. Laurie is survived by his 3 siblings and their spouses, 2 daughters and their spouses, 5 granddaughters, many nieces and nephews, as well as his former wife, and his long-time girlfriend.
He will be remembered for his quick wit and keen sense of humour. He spent his retirement years caring for his mother, and his younger brother (and best friend), Allen.
Laurie requested a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a charitable donation to your local Salvation Army, or Animal Safe Haven Society.
