David John AINSLIE

David John Ainslie, born January 7, 1919, passed away peacefully September 1, 2005 at Chilliwack General Hospital.

He is survived and missed by his loving wife, Nellie and his beloved daughters: Beth Ainslie, Audrey (Bill) Goosen; step-daughter, Evelyn (Vern) Fry; grandchildren: Terri (Ernie) Maynard; Eric (Debbie Doucet) White; Jim Goosen; Kevin (Lori Johansson) Goosen; Brenda (Kyle) Exner and great-grandchildren: Ainslie Maynard, Cohen White and Anson Exner. Also survived by his brother, Andy, of Edmonton.

David was predeceased by his first wife, Muriel and by five brothers and two sisters.

David was a Veteran of World War II who fought overseas with the Canadian Army.

Along with his brothers, he owned and operated Edmonton’s largest hardware store, W.W. Arcade Ltd. He was a member of the Freemasons. After retirement he was an avid golfer and curler.

Funeral Service will be held at the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6th at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Michael Hare officiating.

Should family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. and Yukon.
