March 27, 1928 - November 19, 2024

Born March 27, 1928, in Regina Saskatchewan. Passed away November 19, 2024, after a well lived life of 96 years.

In 1929 Dave with his parents and 4 brothers moved to Chilliwack BC, to start their own farm. At 11 years old, Dave started horse ploughing, and thus began a lifelong passion. Dave worked as a heavy-duty mechanic which took him, his wife Olga, and their blended family of Karen, Lynn, Jack, and Bev to Squamish. While in Squamish Dave and Olga welcomed their son Jim to their family. Dave continued working as a heavy-duty mechanic, co-owning and operating a logging truck company. Upon retirement, he and Olga returned to Chilliwack and spent their later years tending to their small hobby farm and actively involved in the Chilliwack Ploughing Society. Dave was not only involved in the organization of the society, but he was a competitor with his team of beloved horses Queen and Mindy. Once he had hung up the horse harnesses for the final time, he then became a judge and somewhat of a historian for the society.

Predeceased by his wife Olga, son Jack and stepdaughter Lynn. Dave leaves behind his daughter Bev (Lyle), son Jim, stepdaughter Karen and son-in law Tony (Lynn), grandchildren Doug, Tiffany, Amy, Dave, Jack and Norman, also 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:

The BC Farm Museum, 9131 King Street, Langley, BC V1M 2R6

A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2025 to coincide with the Chilliwack Ploughing Match.
