Darrell James Shyba passed away Nov. 29, 2008 at Cascade Hospice, Chilliwack, B.C. Darrell was born January 2, 1943 in Vancouver, B.C. He is survived by wife Maureen; children Yvonne (John) Aleck, Leigh (Kelly) Shyba, Leslie (John) Wilson, stepchildren: Shannon (Tyler) Davis and Gordon James Newby; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, siblings: Denise Shyba, Deborah (Glen Jack) Vancha, Kevin Vancha, Stacy (Tanya) Britton.
Predeceased by mother Margurite Britton, Dennis Shyba, Marshall Shyba.
Darrell has left us to be with the Lord. He was a life-time trucker and loved the freedom of the open road. He was valued by many employers as gentle with the machinery and consistent with his loads. He was familiar with all forms of trucking from the oil patch to the ice bridges of the North.
Darrell was a quiet gentle man and demanded little, unmaterialistic and patient beyond belief. We will always have memories of his building projects and will certainly miss his talents for improvisation and creativity. Always had a joke for you and enjoyed a play on words making people laugh. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 8909 Mary St. Chilliwack B.C. with a reception to follow at St. Mary’s Hall.
