On October 8th, 2003 at the age of 46, Dan’s work on earth became complete. After a tragic accident, and a courageous 8-day battle, Dan went home to be with his Lord.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at the U of A hospital, Rev. Henry Van Olst, and all those who provided their prayers, love and support during this difficult time.
Dan was born in Chilliwack, BC on July 19th, 1957. He and his family moved to Alberta seven-and-one-half years ago, and most recently resided in the community of Blackfalds.
He was a man of strong faith, strong convictions, with a work ethic second to none. Yet, he was a gentle and loving man, and above all was his love and care of his family. He had a zest for life, and could always make people laugh. He was one to be counted on if you were ever in need, and he was always willing to give whatever he had.
He was a man with many dreams over the years, and one of them was fulfilled three-and-one-half years ago with the commencement of Eagle Builders Inc. He leaves this legacy to his children to continue and build on, for their future, as was his original intention.
He leaves behind his best friend and beloved wife of 26 years, Freda; daughters and sons, Jody Vriend (David), Leita Salomons (Darcy), Dennis Haan, Becky Haan, Craig Haan. His 4 grandchildren Devin, Emily, Taylor and Daniel. He is also survived by his parents Casey & Jo Haan, brothers and sisters, Joanne Willms, Ron Haan (Elaine), Irene Walberg (Ron), Eric Haan (Carolyn), Terry Haan (Debi), Harvey Haan (Arlene), numerous Brothers and Sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
but, as God calls us, one by
one, the chain will link again.
